HSBC, which calculates its own PMI, on Monday indicated a value of 51,5 points for China's manufacturing activity in December, marking the strongest expansion in 19 months.

The expansion of manufacturing activity in China in December it remained stable compared to the previous month, with the PMI index of purchasing managers compiled by the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (the CFLP, a body close to the government), remaining unchanged at 50,6 points.

The index, although below the expectations of economists (who had forecast a rise to 51 points), therefore remains above the threshold of 50 points for the third consecutive month, which marks the boundary between expansion and recession.
