China against the EU, blocked purchases from Airbus

Beijing has blocked purchases by Chinese airlines of aircraft produced by the European Airbus. The decision was taken as a controversial response to the tax on carbon dioxide emissions that the EU would like to impose to carriers passing through its territory, obviously including those of China. This was reported by Louis Gallois, number one of EADS, the aerospace and defense group that controls Airbus.

"The Chinese government refuses to approve the purchases of long-haul carriers by Chinese companies - said Gallois - Airbus is being hit by the retaliation". The manager has demanded that the EU waive the tax.
