Great feat by Vincenzo Nibali, who wins the queen stage of the Alps by posting, with arrival in La Toussuire, and overtakes Alberto Contador in the standings, placing himself in fourth place overall, just 1:19 away from the third step of the podium, occupied by the another Spaniard Alejandro Valverde.
In second place was the Colombian Nairo Quintana, who also occupies second position in the general standings, behind the British Chris Froome who ended up in third place today. Tomorrow another very tough stage in the Alps, before the grand finale in Paris: two historic hills are climbed such as the Croix de Fer and Alpe d'Huez, where the finish is located. After today's exploit, Nibali is aiming for an encore which could mean the conquest of an unexpected place on the podium.
