The third quarter of Chrysler Group, which ends with net income growth of 22% year over year, from $381 million to $464 million. For the US automaker, which is part of the Fiat group, this is the ninth positive quarter in a row.
The profits of the Detroit giant in the first nine months of the year were, however, lower than those recorded in the same period of 2012, 1,137 billion dollars against 1,29 billion.
Chrysler's third-quarter operating income was $862 million, up from $706 million in the same period last year. Net sales were $17,54 billion from $15,5 billion in the third quarter of 2012, up 13,5% year over year.
Chrysler and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne was pleased with the results: "The ninth consecutive quarter of positive net profits underscores our commitment to producing award-winning vehicles for customers, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500."
