Two days of auction “Milanese” on 22 and 23 April 2013, for the international auction house Christie's, which with a catalog of 85 works (50 paintings, 16 sculptures, 11 drawings and watercolours, 6 prints, 2 photographs) has seen the return of good interest from a market that had seemed dormant for months, a confirmation that art continues to live despite all the difficulties of the Italian economic moment.
Once again, the most significant names in modern art are highlighted, such as Fontana, Burri, De Chirico, Castellani and a return of Boetti and Melotti. Works and artists who have now entered an international context, sought after by European, American, but also Asian and other emerging countries collectors. Several awards have exceeded estimates, while still keeping the prices lower than the values recorded in the London and New York auctions, a clear sign that there is greater attention to the price and not only, perhaps also a good opportunity for foreign collectors who come and to whom it is convenient to buy in Italy.
