Christie's: almost 6 million dollars in London for post war art

Open: Summer Edition, Christie's London auction ended with a sale result of 5.832,125 thousand dollars (4.432.415 euros), selling 87% by lot and 95% by value – The top lot of the auction is state of Jack Hamilton Bush with Red Side Right (Right Side Red) which fetched US$603.750, setting a world auction record for the artist.

A world of color for the Open Summer Edition held in London: an auction that highlighted the continuous and growing interest in contemporary and post-war art.

Sara Pritchard, Associate Specialist, head of the first Open Sale, Post-War & Contemporary Art, said: “Across the board, the success of this sale is due to the extraordinary range of works on offer, with a particular focus on strong examples from artists underrepresented in the secondary market, including new artist records for Jack Bush, Ronald Davis and Ron Gorchov and outstanding achievements for Dorothy Dehner and Dan Christensen”.
