Jewels, diamonds and precious stones interest the market more and more, even in Italy with record awards. Natural pearls, colorless, flawless diamonds and colored diamonds of the highest quality dominated the day of the auction at Christie's New York, making the wait and the atmosphere created in the room vibrant. 

The catalog featured 320 jewels and achieved a sell-througt rate of 87% per lot and 98% value per lot. total awards of $49.993.000. The success of this auction confirms that there is great interest on the market for jewellery, especially precious stones which are having great success, both as collectors and as investment objects.

Top lots: A diamond pendant fetched US$9.490.500; a pair of pendant earrings with colored diamonds, sold for USD 4.674.500; a double string of pearls sold for USD 3.666.500; an oval diamond (natural yellow) for USD 3.162.000; a ring with an always colored diamond for USD 2.210.500; and another for USD 1.202.500; followed by a ring by Van Cleef & Arpels for USD 902.500; a pair of diamond and emerald pendant earrings for US$722.500; an Art Deco necklace with diamonds and natural pearls for USD 602.500; a beautiful colored diamond choker by Graff for USD 458.500; and more necklaces in sapphires and rubies.

The Top Lots of the Bonhams Fine Jewelery auction in the New York office were: a “Belle Epoque” diamond ring sold for USD 458.500; ring with three diamonds at USD 266.500; diamond and sapphire ring for $206,500 and a solitaire, rectangular diamond for $194.500.

While Sotheby's in the Hong Kong office, with 1501 lots and a total of USD 50.118.217. Top lots decidedly superb: first top lot, a diamond necklace sold for USD 5.141.940; a brilliant at 4.130,580 USD (note: accompanied by GIA report numbered 2145647220, dated 3 August 2012, stating that the 20.22 carat diamond is D colour, Internally Flawless clarity, with Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry; further accompanied by diamond type classification reports stating that the diamond is determined to be a Type IIa diamond. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of diamond and often have exceptional optical transparency); a rare ruby ​​sold for USD 3.335.940; and other jewels from important Maisons: Boucheron, Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, Tiffany, vegetables, Van Cleef & Arpels, Raymond Yard, Harry Winston.

Excellent result also in the house all-Italian auction: International ArtSale born in 2011, which presents at the October auction 130% of total reserves sold and 65% of the lots presented and two extraordinary Top lots: a single strand pearl necklace (estimated at USD 39.000-52.000) which reached the figure of USD 715.869 and a 6,63-carat diamond-color D VVS1 sold at USD 569.441 starting from an estimate of USD 104.700-157.000.
