The President of Unioncamere, Andrew Priest, launches an appeal to the presidents of the Regions concerned: to proceed as quickly as possible with the last mergers between the Chambers of commerce envisaged by the 2015 reform. Following Parliament's decision, once again, not to accept a amendment (in this case under Legislative Decree 21 of 2022, the so-called "price cut"), which aimed to block the amalgamations missing, to bring the number of Italian Chambers of Commerce to 60.
There are currently 73 chambers of commerce in Italy and the law provides that they are reduced to 60; the unifications, Unioncamere explains, will in any case not leave any area without headquarters and chamber offices.
“We are at the finish line of a reform that has been dragging on for too long – thundered Prete -. Already 60 Chambers have completed the unifications and yet another attempt to suspend the procedures in progress has just failed in the Senate. We appeal to the presidents of the Regions concerned to quickly complete the necessary steps to close this affair which cannot have other possible outlets. It is necessary to give certainties to the territories concerned and to the companies that operate there”, concluded Prete.
