Cerved: record bankruptcies, over 110 companies closed in 2013

Another black year for Italian companies. The crisis continues to reap victims: 2013, in fact, recorded a record low number of closures with over 110 companies, 7,3% more than in 2012. This is communicated by Cerved's quarterly report on the phenomenon of bankruptcies, non-bankruptcy insolvency proceedings and voluntary closures.

Compared to 2012, arrangements with creditors increased by 103% and all the procedures in question reached their highest levels since 2001: bankruptcies, non-bankruptcy procedures and voluntary liquidations.

"During the last quarter - commented the Ceo of Cerved Gianandrea De Bernardis - over 4 thousand companies entered bankruptcy proceedings: 10,4% more than in the same quarter of the previous year, thus bringing the overall figure whole year at 14 and well exceeding the negative record recorded in 2013 (+12%). Unfortunately, we have to note that the year that has just ended stands out for the highest number of bankruptcies since the beginning of the historical series observed, ie 2001”.
