Cernobbio, the debut of the Lega-M5S government at the Ambrosetti Forum

The 44th edition of The European House Ambrosetti Forum, the traditional post-holiday meeting of the protagonists, is taking place today (further than usual, in fact the "historic" coincidence with the Monza GP has been skipped) on the shores of Lake Como from the worlds of politics, finance, business and science. The venue is still Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, a handful of kilometers from Como, and as usual hundreds of journalists from all over the world are expected to follow not only the prophecies of the economist Nouriel Roubini, a regular guest at the 9 editions, but above all for witness the debut of the new Government in such an important and demanding audience, where the so-called "powers that be" are the masters. The Deputy Prime Ministers Luigi Di Maio and Matteo Salvini have already been to Cernobbio in the past, and this year it is also the turn of the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte as well as other ministers, generally guests on Sunday, at the end of the event. The first to tread the prestigious parterre should be Moavero Milanesi, starting today, while the presence of the leader of the 5 Star Movement does not seem confirmed.

There is no shortage of hot topics: the organizers will submit two important research projects to speakers and journalists, signed by Carlo Cottarelli and the Ambrosetti Club, while current affairs will make everything more dense: from the hot Italian autumn, with the budget law, at the end of the Qe, from the trade war to the currency earthquakes in Turkey and Argentina, from the migrant crisis to the new tensions that are jeopardizing political stability in Libya. There is also room for some new features: in fact, for the first time in the history of the Forum, a humanoid speaker, HI-5, will also participate, together with its creator, Hiroshi Ishiguro, Director of the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory of Osaka University. There is also talk of infrastructure, just a few weeks after the tragedy in Genoa that shook the country: one of the topics touched upon is in fact the electrification of the country, in the transport, building and industry sectors, with the presentation, through the speech by the scientific advisor of the project Raffaele Tiscar, of the study carried out for Enel “Electrify 2030″.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of Gioacchino Rossini, the Ambrosetti Forum takes the opportunity to celebrate and remember the Italian artist. On the gala evening on Saturday, the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra will perform, conducted by the great Maestro Daniel Agiman. Also this year, in memory of Shimon Peres' historic 24 attendance at the TEHA Forum, the winners of the second edition of the Peres Heritage Initiative are revealed. This is an award for young innovators under the age of 35 who have distinguished themselves for excellent results achieved in areas related to Shimon Peres' political and humanitarian activism. The winners are guests of the Forum during which they will have the opportunity to present their experience and their project.
