Cereals, coffee and same-sex marriages

General Mills, a giant of the breakfast cereals found on American household tables, has been accused of organizing the fight against marriage. That's because he gave his support to defeat an amendment that bans same-sex marriages. Minnesotans, where General Mills is headquartered, will vote on this amendment to the state constitution in November.

This aspect of same-sex marriages is deeply felt in America and it is instructive to see how even big companies (which, by the way, have problems on the subject internally) are taking public positions on the subject. Starbucks also said it opposes a ban on same-sex marriage in Washington state.

Brian Brown, president of the 'National Organization for Marriage', which has accused General Mills of 'warring marriage', has also promoted a boycott of Starbucks. But his 'Dump Starbucks' campaign had 44387 signatures, against 650109 signatures in favor of the 'Thank You Starbucks' campaign.
