Italian industrial production is slowing down again. According to the rapid survey published today by the Confindustria Study Center, growth in December was 0,1% month on month, down from the +0,2% recorded in November.
On the other hand, the comparison on an annual basis improves, albeit remaining in negative territory. Net of the different number of working days, in December production decreased by 1,2% compared to the same month in 2013, while in November there was a year-on-year decrease of 2,5%.
Furthermore, according to the CsC, in the fourth quarter of 2014 industrial activity recorded a cyclical decline of 0,5% (entirely inherited from the third quarter). On the other hand, the first quarter of 2015 will show a slightly positive cyclical change (+0,1%).
