Cassa Depositi e Prestiti announces that the Thermal Account Investment Loan (PICT) is available new tool aimed at municipalities, provinces and metropolitan cities with which CDP aims to encourage the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the area, leveraging the resources made available by the Energy Services Manager (GSE), a company of the Ministry of the Economy which in Italy promotes sustainable development through incentives of renewable sources and energy efficiency.
PICT is a new long-term financing facility designed to speed up the implementation of the interventions which have obtained the granting of incentives by the GSE based on the Thermal Account, the incentive mechanism that makes 200 million euros available to the PA every year for energy requalification interventions on public buildings. The PICT therefore provides complete financial coverage of these projects, speeding up the implementation of energy efficiency measures. Once the GSE incentive has been collected, the local authority proceeds with the early repayment of the corresponding portion of the PICT, without any additional charge.
The tool is designed to offer an innovative solution which, on the one hand, helps Local Authorities in the implementation of their projects and, on the other, stimulates the implementation of energy transition projects also in the Public Administration, in line with the new approach strategic and operational outlined by the CDP Business Plan strongly oriented towards the principles of sustainable development. The intervention, in fact, falls within the framework of the2030 Agenda and, in particular, is oriented towards Sustainable Development Goals 7 ("Clean and accessible energy") and 11 ("Sustainable cities and communities") which among the targets also include the improvement of energy efficiency and the creation of a more sustainable.
