New operations to support businesses and infrastructure approved. The commitment to local PAs has been strengthened with the extension of the Treasury advance service to new municipalities. New resources for international cooperation in Africa and the Balkans

Cdp: new operations for 675 million euros. Access to Treasury Advances for Local Authorities has been expanded

The Board of Directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), led by Giovanni Gorno Tempini, gave the green light for new operations to support businesses, infrastructure and international cooperation, for a total of 675 million euro.

The number of public bodies has also expanded who can benefit from cash advances.

Business support

The Board of Directors approved support operations for businesses and infrastructures, including financing in collaboration with other financial institutions.

These operations aim to support investments in infrastructure, access to credit and the export of companies operating in strategic sectors of the Italian economy.

Commitment to local PAs strengthened

Cdp also has strengthened its commitment about Local public administrations, extending the Treasury Advance service to Municipalities with a population of up to 100.000 inhabitants and to Provinces and Metropolitan Cities with up to 1 million residents.

Previously, this service was only available for municipalities with up to 15.000 inhabitants. Now more than 7.900 Municipalities and Provinces, representing the vast majority of local authorities, will be able to use this service to meet their liquidity needs.

Resources for international cooperation

New initiatives approved for promote sustainable growth in Africa, focusing on projects related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure and food security. Initiatives that aim in particular to support the agricultural supply chain and local production.

Furthermore, an operation was decided for accelerate the energy transition in the Balkans.
