Cdp: the assembly for the renewal of the top management is on 10 July

Second call scheduled for the 14th – In addition to the names, it remains to be clarified what new role the Government intends to attribute to the Cassa: re-edition of IRI or extension of responsibilities to broadband?

Cdp: the assembly for the renewal of the top management is on 10 July

The renewal of the top management of the Cdp is now upon us. Yesterday the Board of Directors of Cassa depositi e prestiti called the extraordinary and ordinary shareholders' meeting for 10 and 14 July, respectively on first and second call. The purpose of the meetings is to approve the statutory changes agreed by the shareholders and, above all, to adopt decisions on new directors.

In two weeks, therefore - a year before the natural expiry of the mandate - the current top management of the Cassa should be replaced, i.e. the president Franco Bassanini and the managing director Giovanni Gorno Tempini, whose work has also been publicly appreciated by the Government.

According to the latest rumors, the candidates from the Treasury (Cdp shareholder with 80%) would be respectively Claudio Costamagna, president of Impregilo-Salini, and Fabio Gallia, managing director of Bnl-Bnp Paribas. On governance and appointments, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has already agreed with the former banking foundations, shareholders of CDP with 18,4%.

At this point, in addition to the names, it remains to clarify what new role the Executive intends to attribute to CDP: the goal could be a real re-edition of IRI, or a less radical expansion of the powers of the Cassa, with particular reference to broadband.

Furthermore, yesterday's meeting of the Board of Directors spoke of the allocation of 1,9 billion euros to help local authorities carry out "school building works, operations to support exports and research, development and innovation in the sectors of shipbuilding and mechanics”.
