The banking foundations are interested in joining Cdp Reti, the company controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti which holds 30% of Snam and will soon own 29,8% of Terna.
There would be more than 30 expressions of interest from banking foundations ready to subscribe for between 2 and 3% of the capital. The overall commitment of the Foundations exceeds 200 million euros.
The Chinese of State Grid of China joined Cdp Reti at the end of July and will disburse 2,1 billion for the 35% stake by the end of the year.
Cdp, which will keep 51% of the company, has started the sale of the remaining 14% of Cdp Reti to Italian institutional investors: in addition to foundations, the focus is on pension funds and social security funds. At the moment, the interest of the latter is scarce.
