In 2021, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has mobilized over 4 billion in support of companies. In the year still marked by the effects of the pandemic, CDP intervened in support of development policies and the revitalization of the Italian economy in line with the Temporary Framework on State Aid of the European Union, setting up the "Relaunch Heritage" and mobilizing over 4 billions of euros – coming from the “Covid-19 liquidity” instruments – to support the Italian entrepreneurial fabric. In the document, the accounting judiciary highlighted the approval by the Cdp of the 2022-2024 Strategic Plan for the revitalization of the national economy (with the four themes relating to climate and the environment; sustainable growth; rethinking of the production chains and innovation/digitalization), highlighting the actions carried out in favor of the public administrations for the realization of the investments connected to the Pnrr , including the CDP-MEF agreement for the stipulation of activity plans with individual ministries/central administrations. 

In implementation of the 2021 Budget Law - the judiciary also highlighted - the company refinanced the mortgages already granted by the MEF to the regions, also for expenses other than investment ones, and managed the funds of the same ministry, granting advances of liquidity to institutions for the payment of public administration debts. 

CDP's assets

Il net assets of the company goes from 25.497 million euros in 2020 to 25.309 in 2021 (-0,7%) and the net profit, although influenced by interest rates at historic lows, is equal to 2,4 billion (it was 2,8 in 2020). The 2021 interest margin (1.777 million euros) is down on the 2.062 of the previous year, while the intermediation margin (3.577 million euros) is reduced compared to the 4.126 in 2020, above all due to the trend in the interest margin and due to lower income from interest rate risk management strategies activated on the securities portfolio, partially offset by the growth in dividends.

At Group level, the note continues, shareholders' equity rises from 33.695 million euros in 2020 to 35.442 in 2021, by virtue of the increase in the result for the year, while net profit, from 1,2 billion, reaches 5,3 .XNUMX billion euros, mainly thanks to the contribution of the investment in Eni (+1,5 billion euros). The interest margin recorded a negative trend (-16,4%), mainly due to the contribution of the parent company, which reflects the worsening of the spread between interest-bearing assets and interest-bearing liabilities, with interest rates at historic lows.
