CDP will provide technical-administrative consultancy to develop the new line 2 project. A strategic work worth 4 billion

Cdp-City of Turin: agreement for the new subway

Cdp will collaborate with the Municipality of Turin for the construction of the new subway. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding which provides for a collaboration aimed at developing the project for the new line 2, for which the Municipality has already estimated a cost of around 4 billion (1,5 for the Polytechnic-Rebaudengo section).

In this context, in line with the provisions of the agreement signed last September 13 on the City Plan, Cdp will provide technical-administrative consultancy, useful for promoting rapid completion of the work. “In collaboration with any external consultants, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will support the Turin administration in the various stages of development of the project. In particular, CDP will assist the Municipality in the administrative procedural process, in the planning and monitoring phases of management activities, in the procurement methods, in the definition of the tender documents, in the project approval process and in the financial structuring of the same", he explains the company in a note.

"For the future of Turin, the underground line 2 is a strategic work, the realization of which is also fundamental in terms of recovery after the negative effects which, for the local economy, the health emergency resulting from the pandemic has entailed from coronavirus”, declared the Mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino.

“With this protocol we confirm the commitments made on the occasion of the signing of the City Plan last September and further develop the model of cohesion with the territory and the community. Cdp has a strong bond with the city of Turin, which we intend to further consolidate, also thanks to the forthcoming opening of the new territorial headquarters, which will become a point of reference for public administration entities, businesses and other stakeholders in the Piedmont area", he declared the managing director of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Fabrizio Palermo.
