The Board of Directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) has approved "new operations in favor of businesses, territories, infrastructures and international cooperation for a total value of 1 billion euro. The Council also gave the green light to General Policy on Responsible Procurement which defines the guiding principles and operating methods to promote best practices in terms of environmental, social and good governance sustainability within the CDP supplier chain". This was announced in a press release released late yesterday evening, Thursday 28 September.
Support for businesses, territories and infrastructures
In line with Cassa's role in supporting the country's economy, the Board of Directors has approved new operations which include alternative investment funds and financing, also in pool with other financial institutions, aimed at promoting access to credit, internationalization and business growth plans. Among the recipients of the operations there are small, medium and large companies, excellences of the Made in Italy:, which aim at new investment programs, with positive impacts on strategic supply chains.
Resources for international cooperation
Consistent with the objectives of CDP which Italian Financial Institution for Development Cooperation, the Council approved two new initiatives in favor of sustainable growth in Africa and, in particular, of companies active on the continent, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), for the development of projects dedicated to renewable energy, energy efficiency , food security and infrastructure. Added to these is also an operation aimed at supporting the growth of SMEs active in specific areas of the Balkans, with positive effects on employment levels in the reference countries.
General Policy on Responsible Procurement
The Board of Directors also approved the General Policy on Responsible Procurement, aimed at defining "ethical, economic, social and environmental standards with the aim not only of guiding CDP in the selection of its suppliers with a view to rewarding them, but also of verifying that the counterparties in turn undertake to promote the principles and guarantee compliance with sustainability requirements in their supply chain. The policy also includes a Code of Conduct for Suppliers inspired by the values already expressed in the CDP Code of Ethics.
Open Fiber Appointments
The Board of Directors of CDP also approved the designation of Giuseppe Gola as the new CEO of Open Fiber, following the resignation of the outgoing Mario Rossetti.
