Cdp and the Municipality of Milan: Memorandum of Understanding for the sustainable development of the city

Il City of Milan e Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote sustainable development through investments in mobility and infrastructure, with the aim of enhancing and safeguarding the territory.

Thanks to this collaboration, the municipal administration will be able to benefit from the technical and financial support of Cdp for the development of investment programs, taking full advantage of the opportunities offered by the InvestEU Programme.

CDP will offer consultancy at Palazzo Marino

Cdp will provide advice to the Municipality on projects concerning local public transport, urban regeneration and the energy efficiency of state property properties. Deposits and Loans Fund it will identify the most suitable legal and financial instruments to support such projects, which will be developed within the InvestEU Programme.

InvestEu is the program to relaunch public and private investments in the European Union for sustainable recovery, also equipped with a Consulting Center, in which CDP has the role of Advisory Partner of the European Commission.

The agreement will have a operating life of two years and establishes the guiding principles for institutional cooperation. This cooperation provides for the signing of specific implementation protocols between Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the various Administration Areas, in order to define the details of the collaborations.

“The agreement signed with the Municipality of Milan, in line with ours Strategic Plan 2022-2024, confirm thecommitment of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti a favor of sustainable development projects promoted by local administrations and bodies. In this way, and moving within the perimeter defined by the Agreement signed with the European Commission in the context of the InvestEU Advisory Hub, once the projects have been identified, we can support the Municipality in the implementation of projects that will be able to exploit the resources made available by the European Union" he declared Luca D'Agnese, Policy, Evaluation and Advisory Director of CDP.

“The municipal administration intends make major investments with impacts of environmental and socio-economic sustainability, also by experimenting with new operating models and identifying solutions suited to the needs of the territory. The opportunities offered by InvestEu can contribute to the growth plan of the city, according to the horizons outlined by the Next Generation EU, which inspire a new competitive and integrative development, with technological transition, social equity and sustainability at the center" explained the Councilor for Budget and Heritage, Emmanuel Conte.
