CDP: agreement in Japan for commercial alliance

The agreement signed with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation aims to create business opportunities and commercial partnerships for Italian and Japanese companies, both in Italy and in third countries

The president of Cassa depositi e prestiti, Massimo Tononi, and the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Tadashi Maeda, have signed an agreement which aims to create business opportunities and commercial partnerships for Italian and Japanese companies, both in Italy and in third countries. A note from the CDP communicates it.

“The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the meeting between the heads of the financial institutions of the 20 most industrialized countries, provides for the promotion of collaborative programs and projects between Italian and Japanese companies – reads the note – to pool the respective experiences and excellence and open access to new geographic markets in the infrastructure sector (roads, motorways, railways, ports and airports), energy (with a focus on renewable energy and waste-to-energy plants), agri-food, chemistry- pharmaceutical and natural resources”.

“The first objective of our partnership – explained Tononi – will be to promote future collaboration between Japanese and Italian companies through the co-financing of projects in sectors in which Italy and Japan represent excellence worldwide, including infrastructure and renewable energies. Furthermore, considering CDP's great commitment to promoting sustainable projects not only from a socio-environmental point of view, but also from a financial one, we believe that the collaboration with JBIC represents an important step forward in this direction".

The agreement is part of the collaboration launched in July 2018 between Japan and the European Union with the signing of the Economic Partnership Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Agreement. >
