Cdp has signed a memorandum of understanding with Assoporti aimed at identifying initiatives that will lead to the definition of projects aimed at the construction of new infrastructures.

The agreement will give CDP the right to assist the airport system authorities both in the planning phase of the works and in the preparation of the tenders for the awarding of the contracts and in the design and construction of the works.

 "The agreement forms part of CDP's mission to support the development of strategic infrastructures such as ports, in order to accelerate their competitiveness also from a Euro-Mediterranean perspective", the company said in a note. 

“With the signing of this agreement – ​​he declared Fabrizio Palermo, CEO of CDP – Cassa Depositi e Prestiti strengthens its role in supporting the country's infrastructural renewal not only from a financial point of view but also thanks to its qualified skills". 

The manager then goes on to explain what the company's role will be: “CDP makes its expertise available from a technical and administrative point of view in order to speed up the construction of new works. This is a further commitment to the development of the national port system, with a positive effect for all the main sectors of our economy, also in consideration of the opportunities deriving from Italy's strategic positioning in the Mediterranean area”, concludes Palermo. 

Il president of Assoporti, Daniele Rossi, on the sidelines of the signing, he said: “We believe that this collaboration will allow us to find additional resources for the development of our ports, as well as for the overall revitalization of the country. Given the strategic importance of ports and logistics for the economy, I am sure that with this framework agreement we have taken a further and important step."
