Deposits and Loans Fund (CDP) he has allocated 30 million euros for the improvement of integrated water system of Valle d'Aosta. This funding is intended for BIM Consortium (Bacino Imbrifero Montano) and aims to support investments in water infrastructure in the entire region.
Modernization of water resources
The funding will allow many municipalities in the Aosta Valley to make improvements e optimizations in the different stages of water treatment, covering aqueduct, sewerage and purification services. The goal is to preserve and protect natural resources, contributing to their efficient use.
The credit line is intended to support the essential interventions envisaged by the BIM Consortium to promote water saving and mitigate the effects of water shortages recently observed in this region, due to adverse weather conditions, such as scarce rainfall and extreme phenomena linked to ongoing climate change.
First time of the new green loan
CDP granted 20 million resources using the new green loan, a product developed in collaboration with the EIB to promote sustainable investments with favorable financial conditions. This loan comes under a total of 200 million for four priority sectors: green economy and water resources, energy efficiency, public transport and waste treatment.
The strategic plan of Cdp continues
The operation is in line with the CDP Strategic Plan and is based on the priorities identified by the Sectoral Strategic Guidelines concerning the Protection of the Territory and Water Resources. The purpose is to support the upgrade and strengthening of infrastructure to improve resource management and more effectively address the impacts of climate change.
“We are particularly proud to have signed the first green loan, launched thanks to the collaboration with the EIB, for the strengthening of an essential sector such as the water one, capable of generating a positive impact for the benefit of the communities. In a historical period characterized by increasingly extreme weather conditions involving the whole country, this loan will allow numerous municipalities in the Aosta Valley to invest in more modern and safer infrastructures, guaranteeing better water services for citizens and greater protection of the territory". commented Exedra Chiacchella, PA Manager of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
