Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP) has granted a 30 million euro loan to Unigrà, a diversified Italian agri-food company, vertically integrated and active in various food sectors. Unigrà is an international company with 750 employees and a turnover of 556 million euros, of which around 35% abroad, with over 100 countries served.
The operation allows Cassa depositi e prestiti to support the company's development plans and make a new contribution to the growth of industry 4.0 in Italy. The funds of Cassa depositi e prestiti will be used by Unigrà for start a series of investments related to technological renewal, the increase in energy efficiency and the reduction of the environmental impact, also through the logistical efficiency of production activities in Italy.
Cassa Depositi e Prestiti actively supports this the development of Industry 4.0 in Italy – privileged access route for the improvement of industrial performance – through the optimization of working conditions and the increase in productivity and production quality of the plants. More than 900 Italian companies benefited - directly or indirectly - in 2017 from the support of Cassa depositi e prestiti, for a value of 1,9 billion mobilized and with a guaranteed leverage effect of 3x.
Unigrà, born in 1972 and founded by Luciano Martini, has developed over time its mission of creating high quality raw materials, semi-finished and finished products for all the channels of the sector: Industrial, Craft, Laboratories, Retail and Ho.Re.Ca. The company is therefore active in the following food sectors: agriculture, transformation and sale of vegetable oils and fats, margarines, chocolate, vegetable creams and semi-finished products for food production, especially confectionery. Despite the strong growth abroad, the main production site of the group remains the historic Conselice (RA) plant. The Unigrà group operates on the market with the Master Martini, Martini Linea Gelato, GLF, Martini Food Service, OraSì and Gioia brands.
