Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), closed the budget 2022 with 30,6 billion euros of committed resources, the highest number ever achieved in its history. The sum represents 125% of the budget, a significant increase compared to 2021.
It was announced by theCEO of CDP, Dario Scannapieco, on the occasion of the presentation in Milan of the impact of the group's initiatives over the past year.
CDP's investments during 2022
The data is in line with the strategic plan for the two-year period 2022-2024 approved in November 2021. The objective of the Plan until 2024 is to establish a capital buffers more than one billion equal to about 1,2 billion already reaching that level of availability. There is also a 55% payout over the course of the plan.
In the first year of operation of the plan were investments activated for 80 billion, with an impact on GDP of 1,7%. Among the main activities is the support for 45 businesses with guarantee instruments and the raising of 600 million through venture capital, private equity and real assets funds. Investments were also important infrastructure (24 operations) and an acceleration on the international cooperation. They were deliberated during the year new resources for over 800 million euro, 600 million from completed disposals of investments and 200 million from property sales already completed. Three Billion are the resources committed to the energy transition.
Scannapieco: the 2022-2024 plan is bearing fruit

Cdp has “expanded its operations by becoming the operating arm for grounding projects” underlined the CEO.
“We did the Cassa strategic plan to 2024 in 2021, when we were in a different world. In the fall we started a check which confirmed to us that the system was valid. We have calibrated some aspects, but the system remains the same. The goal will remain focus on business and infrastructure, on hot topics like the energy transition. We will focus on priority sectors and expand the offer of Advisory. We put the plan to the test and saw that it is still valid. Our portfolio is constantly put to the test, we must not only make volumes, but we must do the right things” said Scannapieco.
Fundraising roadshow in the USA
During his speech, Scannapieco also announced a fundraising roadshows on the American West Coast to look for international funds that they can invest in venture capital Italian. The tour is scheduled to start in early February.
