Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp) hosted a meeting in Rome meeting with the Conference of Regions and of the autonomous Provinces and the Financial regional, bringing together over 100 representatives of the regional system. The event focused on strengthening dialogue regarding the offer of Cdp tools and products dedicated to Sustainable Development of the territory. The meeting highlighted the importance of local communities, taking up the attention already shown in 2022, and aimed to develop solutions for more efficient management of resources allocated to public bodies, businesses and infrastructures. It was also an opportunity to take stock of the results of the collaborations between Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, local institutions and the economic forces of the area.
Cdp: initiatives for 10 billion
In the period 2021-2023, CDP has completed initiatives for almost 10 billion of Euro. Of these, approximately 2,5 billion were directly allocated to Regions, autonomous Provinces, companies owned by the Regions and corporate programs in collaboration with the regional financial institutions.
Among these loans, one billion was allocated for the sinfrastructural development, focusing on transport networks, sustainable mobility and renewable energy. Furthermore, operations were conducted refinancing of previous debt of the Regions with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which reached a total of 7,3 billion between 2021 and 2022, generating savings of 1,8 billion.
Cdp, the support instruments: basket bonds
Cdp, in collaboration with the Regional finance companies, promoted innovative financial support tools, such as Basketball bonds, aimed at facilitating access to credit for small and medium-sized local businesses. Since they were launched, the regional Basket bonds, with public guarantee, have financed 123 SMEs, activating overall resources exceeding 335 million euros.
Cdp, the working tables with the Regions
During the event were organized four work tables focused on the development of the territory, local businesses, real estate and the national health system. Representatives of the Regions took part in these tables, including councillors, general directors and heads of cabinet, together with members of Anfir and other territorial stakeholders.
Sectoral and local webinars are planned for the future to further explore the topics discussed during the meeting. “Supporting local development is our priority.
