Alitalia board of directors: Colaninno and Del Torchio confirmed at the top

Roberto Colaninno and Gabriele Del Torchio confirmed at the top of Alitalia. This was communicated by the airline after the meeting which appointed the new board of directors after the capital increase. The board appointed Colaninno as president and Del Torchio as vice president and managing director.

Meanwhile, today James Hogan, number one of Etihad, took time on the Alitalia dossier: “We are still in a preliminary phase of the analysis – he said -. We are working on the process. The important thing in any transaction is to do due diligence and be sure, if you are going to invest, that there is a clear plan to return to profitability. We will not make any hasty decisions."

Furthermore, according to Hogan, "there are no plans for an announcement at the end of January" and there is no interest from Etihad for Fiumicino airport.

For his part, Del Torchio said he was optimistic about the outcome of the negotiations for an alliance with Etihad Airways. “With Etihad – said the CEO – we are in an exploratory phase, we exchange ideas and projects. But if good morning starts in the morning, I'm optimistic. We are in dialogue and the important thing is to continue analyzing the synergies and strengths to arrive at a solid operation”. Alitalia's industrial plan, added Del Torchio, meets the requests of the Arab company.

Finally, as far as the shareholding structure is concerned, Intesa Sanpaolo, Poste Italiane and Unicredit are the three main shareholders of Alitalia after the 300 million capital increase. Intesa Sanpaolo has 20,59% of the capital, Poste Italiane 19,48% and Unicredit 12,99%. Other important shareholders are Roberto Colaninno's Immsi with 10,19%, Atlantia with 7,44%, Air France with 7,08%, Fire (Riva group) with 4,28%, the Odissea holding Antonio Percassi with 3,9%, Macca with 3,69% and Pirelli with 2,67%.
