Cattolica uses virtual reality for risk analysis

Cattolica Insurance launches a new project to assess the risk of SMEs remotely. To do this, the insurance company makes use of virtual reality, equipping the agents with a 360° video camera and a VR viewer (virtual reality) to carry out inspections in live streaming. While for the calculation of the final premium, the insurance company is launching a new data analysis platform.

In this way, the virtual reality it will allow contractors to support agents in the area during inspections, to carry out remote inspections in live streaming and, thanks to the platform, to enhance their consultancy skills.

However, the innovative project is still in the experimental phase and will only be released in the next few weeks. In the absence of a 360° video camera and VR viewer, Agents will be able to be assisted in the hiring phase through the use of the video camera on the smartphones and tablets supplied.

It's not all. Cattolica Assicurazioni has also created a new and innovative “evolved forecaster”. It is a platform that facilitates the definition of the customer profile by cross-referencing the information already available with that from other databases, with the aim of improving the risk profile assessment of SMEs and the calculation of the final premium.

Together with the traditional parameters, the "advanced estimator" presents information from third-party sources, such as the economic-financial situation of the company, the presence of any adverse events and press reports, thus enhancing the Agent's consultancy skills.

“Once again Cattolica demonstrates its desire to be ever closer to SMEs by introducing a digital approach that looks to the future of underwriting – commented Nazareno Cerni, Deputy General Manager and Non-Motor Non-Life Director of the Cattolica Assicurazioni Group -. These innovations improve the tools available to our network of agents and brokers and allow us to offer an even more professional and technological service, improving our level of service".
