Cattolica, over 3 million from the Foundation for solidarity

The board chaired by Paolo Bedoni has approved the budget: in the last three years, 8,6 million have been allocated to social and cultural initiatives.

Cattolica, over 3 million from the Foundation for solidarity

More than three million for 2019 alone, 8,6 million considering the entire three-year period 2017-2019. These are the numbers that the Cattolica Assicurazione Foundation, whose financial statements were approved under the presidency of Paolo Bedoni, has earmarked for initiatives in the fields of solidarity, education, research and culture. Of these amounts, about half - 49,1% - was allocated to the start-up of 68 new social enterprises. Thanks to the activities supported, during the last year, it was therefore possible to place 348 people in a professional context - for a total of 455.208 hours worked - and to involve 18.195 volunteers (1.495 of whom at their first experience) for a value of 1.080.376 .XNUMX hours donated.

The projects promoted by the Catholic Foundation have reached over 300 beneficiaries and involved 2.062 institutions. The closure of the 2017-19 mandate of the Board of Directors also provided an opportunity to take stock of the work carried out over the entire three-year period, a period of time in which the institution defined a decisive change of perspective, moving from the simple of funds to support social enterprise projects. The appropriations in this regard increased from 41% in 2017 to 49% in 2019 compared to the total. Social initiatives capable of self-financing once started have therefore become the activity that most characterizes the work of the Foundation.

“It is a balance that makes us proud – commented the President Paolo Bedoni – and which stimulates further and profound reflections to face the changes that the Covid-19 emergency will bring about in our communities. These are challenges that the Foundation is ready to undertake with awareness of its history, its values and the human capital that animates our action. Behind each issue of this budget there are the many recipients who have benefited from the services made available through the Foundation, but also that army of extraordinary volunteers who work every day to make their contribution to the Common Good. To face the future, greater solidarity on the part of all will be needed and renewed spirit of collaboration between institutions. Fondazione Cattolica will make a concrete effort in this direction to continue to accompany the growth of the territories in which it operates".
