Cattolica Assicurazioni, launching the first solidarity fund

Open to employees and citizens, the "Cattolica per la Vita" fund will promote new projects in support of the local area every year. The first initiative aims to purchase an ultrasound machine for the prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease at the Women's and Children's Hospital in Borgo Trento (Verona).

Cattolica Assicurazioni, launching the first solidarity fund

It was inaugurated today "Catholic for Life", the first Fund of the Cattolica Group with a social nature. Established within the cultural and social philanthropy organization Fondazione Italiana per il Dono, the Fund is open to employees and citizens and aims to make all people protagonists of solidarity actions to improve the well-being of the community with small or large donations . The contributions made to the Fund are aimed at supporting solidarity initiatives in the area, identified on an annual basis by Cattolica's Management Committee.

"Atto di Cuore", the first initiative to which the Fund is dedicated, was born from the collaboration with the medical staff of the Borgo Trento Hospital in Verona (Women's and Children's Hospital) and is dedicated to the purchase of an ultrasound prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease. Although it is the most frequent form of congenital malformation of fetuses, affecting between 3 and 8 newborns out of 1000, there are few hospitals equipped with the machinery capable of diagnosing them: in Veneto, for example, there are only 2 centers equipped to carry out in-depth analyses. Promptly diagnosing cardiac difficulty increases the possibilities of intervention in children who can be born in these centers equipped for the treatment of heart disease newborns.
