“What Mario Draghi said this morning, referring to the need to further accelerate the works financed by private concessionaires, without weighing on the state budget, is totally shared by us”. This is what the CEO of Atlantia declared in his commentary on the Final Considerations. "The numbers cited by the Governor, and promptly published by us with each budget, speak for themselves: delays not only increase the costs of the works at our expense - more than 70% higher costs only for the pass variant - but they force us to keep unused the huge financial resources that we have found on international markets, thanks to the new-found stability of the regulatory framework". “According to the latest balance sheet data – added Castellucci – we have about six billion euros ready to be spent on investments that have instead remained unproductive. However, a strong increase in awareness in recent times by all the actors involved on the actions to be taken at all levels is undeniable. And this is what has allowed us in just a few years to exceed one and a half billion Euros of annual investments (compared to 300 million when the company was public). The goal – concluded Castellucci – is, however, to quickly exceed two billion annually and account for more than ten percent of all infrastructure spending in the country.
