Case Edison, Minister Romani meets President EDF

The calendar is running out: on September 15, the syndicate agreement between the French Edf and the Italian shareholders, gathered in Delmi and led by A2A, expires in Edison. The agreement on the divorce in Foro Bonaparte was reached last March and provided for the transfer of control of Edison to the French in exchange for the sale of some plants to A2A.

Case Edison, Minister Romani meets President EDF

Perhaps a decisive meeting today for the fate of Edison. The holder of the Minister of Economic Development meets the EDF president, Henri Proglio. The calendar is pressing: on September 15, the syndicate agreement between the French Edf and the Italian shareholders, gathered in Delmi and led by A2A, expires in Edison.

The agreement on the divorce in Foro Bonaparte was reached last March and provided for the transfer of control of Edison to the French in exchange for the sale of some plants to A2A. But the agreement had been blocked by the government, which was against the change of hands in favor of Edf. The French request to return to the table with Delmi and a guarantee that Palazzo Chigi will not block the agreement again arises from this problem.

Among the hypotheses circulating is that of setting up a consortium around Delmi to take over Edipower, to which the municipalized Acea could be added to take over the Edipower plants from Edison.
