Consip case: the sentences about Tiziano Renzi are fake

The analysis of the wiretaps would have brought to light that the sentence previously attributed to Alfredo Romeo, in which it was said that he had met Tiziano Renzi, had actually been uttered by Italo Bocchino – Carabiniere under investigation for aggravated forgery.

Consip case: the sentences about Tiziano Renzi are fake

At the basis of Tiziano Renzi's involvement in the Consip case there could be a deliberate manipulation of the investigation conducted by the Carabinieri's Environmental Protection Unit.

The captain of the Noe, Giampaolo Scafarto, is being investigated by the Rome prosecutor's office for forgery as the author of a report in the context of the Consip investigation in which on the one hand he allegedly erroneously credited the thesis of the presence of the secret services during the investigations and , on the other hand, to have attributed to Alfredo Romeo a sentence about Tiziano Renzi, father of the ex Premier, actually pronounced by Italo Bocchino.

Going into detail, the analysis of the interceptions would have brought to light that the sentence previously attributed to the Neapolitan entrepreneur, in which it was said that he had met Tiziano Renzi (investigated for trafficking in influences), had actually been pronounced by the former Italian parliamentarian Mouthpiece. There would therefore be no evidence of the meeting between the father of the former Prime Minister and Romeo.

The position taken by Tiziano Renzi's lawyer, Federico Bagattini, was immediate: “Another apparent clue goes away. The hope that a dismissal will be reached at the end of the investigation is even more convinced and concrete” declared the lawyer. According to the lawyer "it is positive news, I am sorry for the captain of the Noe but if there is a fake it is normal that everyone is responsible for what they will later turn out to have done".

In addition, as regards the investigations on the soldiers conducted by the secret services, the same soldiers verified that the man suspected of being a 007, because he observed the carabinieri while they recovered Romeo's "pizzini" from the garbage, was actually a citizen with residence in that street. Circumstance omitted in the information delivered to the power of attorney.

On these bases, the public prosecutor's office decided to place Scarfato under investigation, charging him with the crime of aggravated forgery. The captain of the Noe, during an interrogation held this afternoon in Piazzale Clodio, made use of the right not to answer.
