Seven years' imprisonment for Cesare Geronzi. This is the sentence requested by the Prosecutor of Parma in the context of the Ciappazzi trial. A pronouncement that comes a few days after the sentence of the Court of Rome, which sentenced the former president of the Banca di Roma to another four years for the Cirio crash. Parma prosecutor Vincenzo Picciotti denied Geronzi the generic extenuating circumstances, which instead were granted to Matteo Arpe, former CEO of Capitalia.
Two years and six months in prison were requested for him. The case, one of the strands of investigation born out of the Parmalat crash, concerns the sale of Ciappazzi mineral waters to the Collecchio group. Geronzi is accused of complicity in bankruptcy and aggravated usury.
