Case Alfano, sparks in the Democratic Party: Letta believes in holding the government, but Renzi is pressing

"I have no doubt that the government will move forward and overcome these obstacles." Enrico Letta replies to the English press on the occasion of his visit to the City and does not shy away: speaking of economic growth, indispensable for recovery, there is also space to comment on today's exciting political day, recalling that for economic stability it is first of all necessary the political one, starting with the stability of the government which, however, seems to be creaking.

The prime minister must first of all beware of friendly fire: "Letta go to the courtroom and take a position on Alfano, whether his words have convinced him or not". This is what Matteo Renzi said late yesterday evening, shifting the (presumed) responsibilities for the Ablyazov case from the owner of the Interior Ministry to the premier himself. Thus, within the Democratic Party, the "free den for all" is triggered, with the annexed open war of all the others (Bersani, Franceschin, Popular plus Secretary Epifani himself) against Renzi and the Renzians. Two alignments destined, soon, to collide in a clash which will have as its theme not only and not so much the congress of the Democratic Party, but at this point the same duration of the Letta government. And primaries not of party but of coalition with only two contenders: Renzi, obviously, and Letta.

The first creates tension and calls for Alfano's resignation, the second invokes stability and flaunts tranquility. But political tension is skyrocketing.
