The expectation involves more than three million Italians who joined the initiative last month, providing their bank details to theapp I of the public administration (or ad other private apps) to have in return a refund equal to 10% of the expenses made (not online) with credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards or other digital instruments.

The problem is IT: as he explains The messenger, PagoPa is updating the calculation of refunds to be paid after recovery several transactions that – who knows why – had disappeared from the system. These are mainly some payments made on the PagoBancomat circuit on 18 and 29 December.

"Once the update of the refund calculation has been completed - explains PagoPa - some participants will be recognized the right to receive the extra Christmas cashback as they will have reached the minimum threshold of 10 necessary transactions, while others will eventually see a refund of an amount exceeding what was notified to him".

Given the not very encouraging premises, new malfunctions cannot be excluded, ie refunds never credited or for an amount lower than due. In these cases, Consap - which manages the cashback payments - will accept the complaints (the form will be released soon) only starting in March. After that, it will take about a month to evaluate the individual cases and then, if necessary, authorize the transfer. Result: in some cases the money won't arrive in the account until April.

On average, however, the Christmas cashback will guarantee the Italians who participated a refund of 70 euro. Only 3% of subscribers will receive the maximum amount foreseen. After all, to get the famous 150 euros, you had to spend at least 1.500.
