Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival: in Pontelatone the two Caserta vines tell the story and the territory

Knowing what is behind a glass, a vine, the territory, its history: this is the spirit that animates the new edition of the Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival. Three days of tastings, workshops, music and high quality cuisine to be held in the historic center of Pontelatone (Caserta) from 30 June to 2 July coming for the event promoted by Pontelatone Casavecchia Wine Route e by the Pro loco of Pontelatone, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pontelatone, AIS – Italian Sommelier Association and Unpli, with the coordination of Francesco Scaramuzzo.

An event that in just a few years has grown a lot in terms of numbers and appreciation by the public and professionals, in which the protagonists are the producers of Casavecchia and Pallagrello who insist on the Doc area to which the Festival is dedicated since birth, to give space and voice to these vines within the increasingly vast Campanian and Italian wine scene in general.

The event will have a itinerant formula in the historic center of Pontelatone, with tasting stalls, moments dedicated to food, music in Piazza Cutillo and in-depth seminars. In the three days from 30 June to 2 July from 20 pm the tasting counters of the cellars and the stands dedicated to food will open with menus focused on local products. Saturday 1 July at 19, in Piazzetta Municipio, Masterclass on Pallagrello Bianco led by journalist Luciano Pignataro. Following, at 20.30 pm, in Piazza Cavour, the spectacular spinning of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana Dop, while Sunday 2 July, again at 19 pm in Piazzetta Municipio, Masterclass on Casavecchia led by Pietro Iadicicco, provincial delegate of Ais Caserta (info: casavecchia. pallagrellowine@gmail.com).

“The recognisability and personality of the Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival – says the coordinator of the event Francesco Scaramuzzo – is linked to a very specific characteristic: unconditionally associating the wine with the chosen territory, making it a whole, in order to create for the wine tourist a complete package.

An important showcase for the area, for the wines that are produced from native vines but above all an opportunity to promote wine culture at a national level

Today the Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival has increasingly taken on the role not only of an important showcase for the area, starting with the fact that the wines are produced from native vines representative of the area itself, but also and above all an opportunity to promote the wine culture nationally as an authentic expression of the excellence and dynamism that are increasingly characterizing Italy from a wine-growing point of view. The producers want to make known what is behind a glass: a vine, the territory, its history. Thanks to them, not only the way of doing business is transformed, but also the way of communicating and promoting the excellence of our Made in Italy. Italy is made up of many small producers, many small and medium enterprises which are the backbone of our production system”.
