Casa, don't buy those filters: they are toxic

Filter It Out” is the clamorous claim of the brand new social advertising campaign launched by AHAM, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers of the United States and Canada against the millions of water filters sold online, and 90% counterfeit, which they have already created health problems.

As Alan Wolf writes on Twice, the large refrigerator manufacturers operating in North America have decided on this initiative because more and more filters are spreading online that bear the names of original but absolutely false brands, which do not filter pollutants, heavy metals, pesticides and insecticides widely present - as is well known - in the drinking water of many states.

These spare parts - which have very low prices - do not differ from the original ones except for the weight (difficult to verify) and let all the poisons of the so-called drinking water contained in the dispensers of millions and millions of American fridges pass through. And they can, as has already happened, also cause damage to refrigerators.

For the moment AHAM has launched this campaign limited to water filters in refrigerator dispensers. But the increasingly widespread counterfeiting of spare parts for water filtering and purification systems and appliances, from filter jugs to water softeners and tap filters, is also spreading because distribution chains also import or distribute these deadly carriers of germs and poisons.

The companies participating in the "Filter It Out" campaign are these: Amana, Beko, Blomberg, Bosch, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gaggenau, GE/Haier, Jenny-Air, Kitchen Aid, LG, Maytag, Miele, Samsung, Sub Zero- Wolf, Thermador and Whirlpool. And in Italy? Everything is silent, but there are millions of counterfeit, dangerous and very low quality filters and spare parts sold online.
