Intesa Sanpaolo was named the best innovative bank in Europe in the lenders sector Esg securitizations by Structured Credit Investor, an international point of reference for financial information. The magazine named the bank led by Carlo Messina winner of the 'Innovation of the year' category at the ESG Securitization Awards. 

Il prize arrived at the end of an evaluation carried out on the main banks in dozens of countries, collecting opinions from important institutional investors: from which emerged the great consideration towards "the development of new segments of Intesa's ESG assets, as well as the ability to innovate in structuring term, its volume of transactions carried out and the active credit risk management model”, explains a note.

This recognition, continues the note, confirms the bank's commitment to ESG, one of the most active in the dynamic management of credit risk, implemented with dedicated credit strategies and transfer operations that aim to make the risk-return profile portfolio at Group level.

“Since the launch of the activities of the Garc Program, Active Credit Risk Management, credit risk transfer operations have been carried out for a total amount of over 50 billion euro, which have allowed Intesa Sanpaolo to free up capital to disburse new loans in support of the growth of Italian companies”, he declared Biagio Giacalone, head of the Active Credit Portfolio Steering Central Department.
