The bill to cancel the crazy files has made a step forward in the Senate Finance Committee.
The text provides for cancellation in the event of no response from the creditor body within 220 days: only the knot relating to administrative detention (or tax jaws) under 2 thousand euros remains to be resolved, which will be discussed today and on which there is a proposal specific to the league.
The text repeals a provision of the Berlusconi government which provides that the administrative detention for debts under 2 thousand euros can only be triggered after Equitalia sends two payment reminders six months apart from each other. However, it is probable that the threshold will be lowered to one thousand euros and the time threshold will be lowered to three months.
Finally, there is the rule to discourage the clever: a mega-sanction has been introduced in the case of false documentation presented by the taxpayer. Without prejudice to criminal liability, the fine due will increase from 100 to 200% of the amount due.
