A second opportunity is coming for taxpayers who have lost the right to pay Equitalia bills in installments in the last two years. For the new installment plans, on the other hand, there will be the possibility of being readmitted at any time by paying off the overdue installments. The changes are contained in Legislative Decree 159/2015 on "Measures for the simplification and rationalization of the rules on collection". The measure went into effect today.
NEW WINDOW FOR OLD REVOCATED PLANS
Anyone who has lapsed from the installment plan of the Equitalia bills between 22 October 2013 and 21 October 2015 can ask again for a deferment of the unpaid sums up to a maximum of 72 monthly installments. Applications must be submitted by November 21st. The forms are available at the desk or on the Equitalia website (see the links below). However, there are some limits to the general rules on installment payments: the new plan granted cannot be extended and will expire in the event of non-payment of two installments, even if they are not consecutive.
FOR NEW INSTALLMENTS, READMISSION IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE
For plans granted starting from 22 October 2015, the installment payment of the Equitalia bills lapses with the non-payment of five installments, even non-consecutive ones. However, by paying the installments that are overdue, you can request a new deferment plan and resume payments.
STOP PAYMENTS IN THE EVENT OF SUSPENSION
The taxpayer who has obtained a judicial or administrative suspension can interrupt the payments of the installments, limited to the taxes concerned, for the entire duration of the provision. At the expiry of the suspension, he can ask for the residual debt of the Equitalia file to be paid in installments up to a maximum of 72 installments.
