Arrives the extension for “Dedicated to you”, the card that allows low-income families to purchase foodstuffs. Families who were unable to collect it or carry out the first transaction by the deadline of 15 September will have the opportunity to activate the card and use it starting from December 15 and until January 31, 2024. Available, there will be, 382,50 euros, a figure to which they are now also added 77,20 € to be used for the purchase of food or fuel.
This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida after the publication of the Masaf-Mimit-Mef decree which, among other things, strengthens the instrument, increasing the resources for the initiative by 100 million. The funds available thus increase from 500 to 600 million euros.
“The card was an extraordinary success and the effectiveness of the measure is demonstrated by the numbers: 91% of the beneficiary families, with an ISEE of less than 15 thousand euros, identified by the INPS, used this tool to cope with the difficult economic situation and the increase in the prices of basic necessities", explained Lollobrigida who added: "Out of a group of beneficiaries equal to 1,3 million families, more than 100 thousand families were unable to access the measure within the expected timeframe. For this reason, the Meloni government intervened reopening the terms for the first activation of the cards, which must be done by 31 January 2024".
“Dedicated to you” card: what is it and how does it work?
"Dedicated to you" it is an electronic card that the government designed for fight inflation and expensive prices and support families with low incomes. Since 18 July the social card has been distributed by the Italian Post Office to families with a ISEE up to 15.000 euros. A "one-off" contribution of 382,50 euros has been preloaded inside.
With this sum you can purchase alone basic food items in stores enabled for the Mastercard circuit. Furthermore, thanks to the card, buyers receive an additional 15% discount at stores participating in the promotion of the measure. Its operation is the same as that of a normal electronic payment card, within the limits established by the relevant legislation.
“Over half of the families preferred to buy fresh products, such as vegetables, fruit, fish and meat, while over 41% purchased shelf products, such as pasta, biscuits and preserves,” said Lollobrigida.

To obtain Dedicata a te you do not need to apply but the beneficiaries have been identified directly by INPS in collaboration with the Municipalities and local services. The only thing to do was to activate the card by 15 September 2023. However, those who were unable to do so will have "another chance": the government has in fact decided to reopen the terms for the first activation of the card. There will be time from December 15th to January 31st 2024.
It should be remembered that to the 382,50 euros available to date, from 15 December 77,20 euros will be added with which it will be possible to purchase not only food but also fuel.
