Carrefour returns to profit in the first half of 2013, posting profits of 902 million euros. The French large-scale distribution group owes a good part of this result to disposals and the recovery of sales in France.
In the same period last year, in fact, Carrefour had suffered a loss of 31 million euros. In the first six months of this year, operating profit was almost stable at 766 million euros. On a pro forma basis, recurring operating income increased by 4,9%, driven by performance in France and Latin America.
In light of these results, the group confirmed that it should "be in line with the consensus of analysts for a current operating result of around 2,2 billion".
