Change at the top of Carrefour. Chairman and CEO Lars Olofsson has announced that he will not ask for the renewal of his posts at the next shareholders' meeting. To receive the relay will be George Plassat, currently leading Vivarte.
The manager will assume the responsibilities after a transition period in which he will occupy the role of executive director. Olofsson's history at the helm of the group lasted for years. The retail distribution giant is increasingly suffering from competition on the French market and is paying for the unexciting results of its strategy to expand into new markets.
