Cost of living, work, and security: the three biggest concerns of EU citizens. Eurobarometer survey.

Europeans also recognize the crucial importance of unity: 89% of respondents think member states should be more united, and 73% believe that greater European resources are needed to address current global challenges. According to citizens, to strengthen its position in the world, the EU should focus its efforts primarily on defense and security (40%), competitiveness, economy and industry (32%), and energy independence (29%).

The Italian interviewees also strongly support the request for a greater unity (91%) and to ensure greater resources for European action, just as they support the EU contributing to their security (67% in favour).
