Dignity is needed in life and if your shareholder, for obvious political reasons, no longer trusts you, take your hat and walk away. Without haggling for other jobs. That's what the Chief Executive Officer did Rai, Charles Outside, which the right-centre government, starving for seats as it is but also like many other precedents, wanted to change from the day it won the elections. Fuortes had been appointed by the government Draghi and the indecorous decision of the Government Melons of fixing the maximum age of superintendents at 70 was thought of in an evident attempt to divert Fuortes to the Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, with many greetings to the general director of the Neapolitan theater, the French Stephan Lissner who is doing a great job.

Fuortes understood the hint and resigned from Rai but also let it be known that he will not go to San Carlo. "The conditions no longer exist to continue my work as CEO of Rai" stated Fuortes bluntly, communicating his resignation to the mef, which is the controlling shareholder of Rai. And again: "Since the beginning of 2023, a political clash has erupted over the position I hold and over my person which contributes to weakening Rai and the Public Service: my professional future is of no importance in the face of these reasons and may be subject to negotiation". Well said, Fuortes: he goes down the Rai stairs but goes up in the reputation ranking.
