Carige, Court of Genoa rejects class action

The judges of the Civil Court of Genoa have declared inadmissible the class action brought by 250 small shareholders of Banca Carige against the institute for alleged unfair commercial practices. This is learned from legal sources. The Court declared the inadmissibility of the class action presented by the Banca Carige Protection Committee due to lack of legitimacy on the part of the Committee itself and sentenced it to pay the costs of the proceedings which amount to approximately 11.500 euros.

The 250 savers, each holding shares not exceeding 1% of the capital, had started the collective action at the end of May against alleged false or misleading information provided by the bank in the deed of sale of Carige securities, mostly shares.
