Carige: share +11% on sales announcement

The share of Banca Carige gallops on the stock exchange following the announcement of the launch of the process of divestment of a portfolio of Non Performing Loans worth 1,2 billion euro. Not only that, the Genoese bank will also dispose of the management platform for problem loans, real estate assets, the subsidiary Creditis and the business merchant book.

A project that apparently appeals to the investors of Piazza Affari who have rewarded the title with a shower of purchases. The shares, after having been blocked in a volatility auction, returned to trading, marking a theoretical increase of 10,99% to 0,2546 euro, while the FTSE Italia Banche travels just above parity (+0,03%). Volumes are also up: almost 10 million pieces have changed hands since this morning. 

The Ligurian bank aims to close the sales by the end of 2017. Based on forecasts, Banca Carige should be able to raise around 200 million euros through these transactions.

Competitive trials will start by the end of this week. "In particular, already counting on strong interest from numerous domestic and international operators, Carige is preparing the virtual data room for NPLs, with the aim of selling a portfolio with a gross value of no less than 1,2 billion euro ”. 

“In relation to the management platform – continues the note published by the Ligurian institute – the target investors have already been defined, ie operators already active in the market with a clear growth project. The bank will make use of the support of the platform in the future, as an external servicer for selected portfolios of non-performing loans. On real estate, the sale process will be focused in particular on the two prestigious assets located in Milan in Corso Vittorio Emanuele and in Rome in Via Bissolati. The building in Milan has a gross surface area of ​​approximately 2.600 m6, for a total of 2 floors above ground and 3.100 underground, while the building located in Rome has a gross surface area of ​​approximately 8 m2, with XNUMX floors above ground and XNUMX underground. Both properties are currently occupied by the Carige group, with office and retail use"
