Malacalza Investimenti has subscribed unopted shares of the Banca Carige capital increase for 25 million euro. Other unopted shares for a value of 119,9 million, according to the note from the Ligurian bank, will instead be allocated by Equita Sim to the other investors who have undertaken to subscribe to the unopted shares of the recapitalisation.
Malacalza had the right to purchase the unopted amount up to 69,5 million. With this move, the family fund increased its stake in Banca Carige by approximately 5% of the capital. The participation of the holding company of the Piacenza family in Carige should therefore be around 22,5% of the capital, but would have had the option to rise up to 28%.
