Carige's insurance businesses have been “fixed” and are in a position to be sold at the highest possible prices. The outgoing chairman of Carige, Giovanni Berneschi, responds to the criticisms of a shareholder on the situation of Carige Vita and Carige Assicurazioni, subsidiaries repeatedly subject to inspections by the insurance authority and which the Bank of Italy has explicitly asked to sell.
“After the inspection by IVASS – Berneschi said in front of the shareholders meeting for the renewal of the board – we adapted to what they wanted and I believe that the company is fine. After years of suffering, the insurance company has been put in order, so it has all the conditions to be sold".
